Fruit Doesn't Need Labels

We all like to think that we make healthy choices when it comes to our diets, but quite often we are fooled by packaging and labels that promote products that claim to be healthier than they really are. So why do we go out of our way to shop for packaged foods when Nature has always packaged the good stuff for us already?

When you pick up a banana or an orange, it's already been packaged for you, and all it takes is to be peeled. An orange doesn't need to tell you that it's good for you, because you already know this, and it doesn't take a label to promote its positive health values to you.

Oranges are packed with vitamin C, and bananas are great for because they're packed with potassium and magnesium, and other vitamins and minerals that support its choice as a good healthy snack.

Did you know that the banana tree is used for more than just its fruit? For instance the Chinese use the widely popular banana oil in their cooking, which they extract from the banana tree leaf. The banana tree leaf is also used in a variety of dishes, and as a replacement dish (literally), for those who lack plates and cutlery. In additional, the red banana tree, a cousin of the yellow banana tree, is used as a houseplant, as its fruit isn't quite as tasty as the yellow.

So remember that your food doesn't have to list that its healthy in order to have healthy properties and be healthy for you. Fruits and vegetables have been top sellers for years without all the fancy packaging.
